About the open call
Fresh Edit invites emerging curators to create a curatorial selection of works from the ArtGraduates collection of 100+ contemporary visual artists, accompanied by an original text exploring the connections between them. The five strongest projects will be published as full articles in ArtGraduates Magazine, one per week, each translated into 17 languages. The best project will additionally receive a $300 USD prize.
Eligibility
Open to emerging curators, art history students, recent graduates, and anyone with a genuine interest in curatorial practice aged 18-35 at the time of submission. No nationality restriction, no entry fee.
What to submit
- A project title
- A selection of at least 5 artworks from at least 3 different artists, referenced by image ID from the curator preview page
- A curatorial essay (500-2000 words) presenting your selection - its theme, the art-historical or conceptual connections between the chosen works, and your curatorial perspective
- Optional: a proposed exhibition concept describing how the selected works could be presented together in a physical or virtual space
We value original thinking, strong thematic connections, and a clear curatorial voice. Submissions are accepted in any language. The published projects are curatorial texts - they do not imply a commitment to realize an exhibition.

What selected curators receive
- Publication of the curatorial project as a full article in ArtGraduates Magazine (ISSN 3029-9292)
- A curator profile with bio, photo, and links to the curator's website and social media
- A professional curatorial reference for CV and portfolio
- $300 USD prize for the best project, in addition to publication
How to apply
- Register using the form below. After approval, you will receive an email with access to the curator preview page where all artworks are available in full resolution with unique image IDs.
- Develop your project. Browse the collection, select your artworks, and write your curatorial essay.
- Submit your completed project by email to [email protected] with the subject line "Fresh Edit: [Your Project Title]".
Terms
- Artworks must be selected exclusively from works available on ArtGraduates.com at the time of submission.
- Your curatorial text must be your own original writing. AI-generated texts will be disqualified.
- You retain full authorship of your project. By submitting, you grant ArtGraduates a non-exclusive right to publish it. All featured artists are credited with links to their profiles.
- Your email address will not be shared with third parties or used for marketing.
- For transparent evaluation, the founder's profile is excluded from the artist collection available for curatorial projects, as the founder is also a practicing artist.
