Kristína Nguyenová
Kristína Nguyenová (*2000, Czechia) works under the pseudonym Mizuki. She studied painting at the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art at the University of West Bohemia (ZČU) under the guidance of Vladimír Véla, MgA., and Andrea Uhliarová, MgA. Her work moves within the field of abstract painting, where the classical conception of the image meets experiment. The subject of her diploma thesis, “Signals of Colours – Touching the Core,” traces the path towards the essence of things through their transformations. She works with colour, shape and line as means of uncovering inner structures – organic, human and natural alike. Through layers of colour and mixed media, she touches on the themes of nature, physicality, the core and duality. From nature she borrows both its fragility and its monumentality, which run through the entire cycle.
