Alice Marková
Alice Marková (1999, Czech Republic) is a graduate of the Painting Studio at the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art.
The connecting thread of her works is the encounter of seemingly disparate worlds (e.g. technical geometric order and an expressive brushstroke, a branch and a wire), which mutually reinforce their effect and take on each other's qualities, becoming an inseparable whole. Together they have the power to fascinate. Through elemental abstract symbolism, she depicts fundamental events and processes that sustain inner tension. Through gradual stylisation, she has arrived at representation through a painterly reduced language. She draws inspiration from the contemporary landscape, where technical elements, rhythms, and the dynamic surrounding world intermingle.
