Bára Gehringerová (*1999) is a visual artist based in Brno. Her work explores the relationship between people and the landscape, the search for a personal connection to place, and the transformation of nature under the influence of human activity. She is drawn to the moment when a person enters the landscape, leaves a trace in it, and gradually shapes a space of their own. Through painting, she examines the similarities and differences that both connect and separate us.
She draws inspiration above all from personal experience, which she transforms into a symbolic visual language. She perceives the landscape not as a specific place but as a space that carries memories, lived experiences, and emotions. Through archetypal motifs, she seeks connections between human identity, our relationship with nature, and the need to feel rooted.
She works primarily with painting and, more recently, with pyrography on wood. She sees wood as a material that naturally preserves the trace of time and of human intervention. Her paintings are characterised by timelessness, airy space, subtle colour, and hidden metaphors. On the border between reality and imagination, she creates images that leave room for the viewer's own interpretation.
She studied at the Secondary School of Art in Ostrava, majoring in applied painting, and has recently graduated from the Painting 1 studio at the Faculty of Fine Arts.
