Žofie Eder
Žofie Eder (1998) graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and the Faculty of Art and Design in Ústí nad Labem. She completed internships in Portugal and Spain as well as artist residencies in the Canary Islands.
Her multidisciplinary practice spans various media and includes electronic music, whose principles she incorporates into her visual work. She takes an eclectic approach that reflects both historical and contemporary contexts, operating at the intersection of fine art and design. She has a particular affinity for working with materials and researching sculptural tiles.
In her works, she creates symbolic, at times surreal landscapes inspired by her travels and personal experience, in which the subconscious, dreams, and memory intertwine. Her practice carries a poetic quality and articulates inner psychological processes as well as existential dimensions of perception. Her work is built on the tension between the sensitivity of content and the expressiveness of form, connecting opposites and relational aspects rooted in the real world.
