Veronika K. Psotková

Veronika K. Psotková (*1981 in Opava) graduated from the Sculpture I studio at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Brno University of Technology (MgA., 2009).
Her domain is the installation of wire sculptures, which she hand-stitches from black or galvanized mesh. She came to this material driven by a desire for lightness, literally dematerialization, and a direct means of expression. She often creates monumental site-specific installations – deliberate engagement with the architecture of the exhibition space has become absolutely essential for her, especially in recent years. Her work reflects both fragility and vitality.
Veronika Psotková explores autobiographical subjects. She frequently comments on everyday real-life situations through which she examines herself, her current world, the world of her daughters, and societal processes that are directly connected to her life and affect her personally.
