Vasilia Georgieva
Vasilia is a Bulgarian artist working in the field of printmaking. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Pedagogy of Fine Arts from South-West University “Neofit Rilski” and in 2026 completed her Master’s degree in Printmaking at the National Academy of Art in Sofia.
Her artistic practice is deeply connected to Orthodox spiritual and cultural heritage. She works primarily with etching, aquatint, and drypoint, often exploring imagery related to churches, monasteries, and sacred spaces. A particularly important source of inspiration is Mount Athos, a place she has not physically visited but has come to know through historical texts, stories, and photographic images.
Alongside spiritual themes, she is also interested in nature and animals. Her work is characterized by attention to detail and an exploration of memory, silence, and spirituality through the language of printmaking.
