Simona Blahutová
The continuous theme of my work is the Zeitgeist – the spirit of the age. I explore selected events from modern history that are often interpreted in black-and-white terms, even though their causes and consequences were far more complex. I choose critical moments or periods when the people involved found themselves in inner conflicts and extreme situations. I am also interested in manipulation through advertising and marketing, and in the ideologies of the 20th century.
