Paraschivescu Karin-Emanuela

Born in 2001 in Brăila, Romania, Karin is a textile and surface designer based in Cluj-Napoca, where she completed both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Textile Design. Her artistic practice explores the expressive potential of colour, texture, and handcrafted techniques, resulting in tactile works that blur the boundaries between textile art and contemporary surface design.

Working across tufting, block printing, sewing, and knitting, Karin combines traditional textile processes with a contemporary visual language. She is particularly interested in surface design, using bold colour palettes, layered textures, and experimental material combinations to create immersive and playful compositions.

Throughout her artistic journey, she has participated in a variety of exhibitions, presenting work that celebrates craftsmanship while embracing experimentation and innovation. Her projects investigate the relationship between pattern, materiality, and space, inviting viewers to engage with textiles beyond their functional role.

By combining handmade processes with vibrant aesthetics, Karin aims to create visually rich surfaces that evoke curiosity, joy, and sensory connection while reimagining the possibilities of contemporary textile design.
