Melanie Bäreis
Melanie Bäreis (b. 1997, Germany) is a German painter working primarily in oil. She completed a master's degree at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. Her artistic approach is grounded in a figurative style that negotiates spatial and thematic discourses through shifts of perspective. Her paintings have been shown in numerous international exhibitions and are held in institutional collections. She is an alumna of the international artist-in-residence fellowship of the Oberpfälzer Künstlerhaus (Kebbel Villa / Villa Paula, Czech Republic). Her works are also held in the museum collections of the Centro de la Comunicación Jesús Hermida in Huelva, Spain. Bäreis has been nominated for the Albertus-Kunstpreis, the KiR-Kunstpreis, the Kunstpreis der Werner Brand Kunststiftung and the Hans-Jürgen-Imiela-Gedächtnispreis, among others.
