Kristýna Boháčová
In my work, I focus on landscape as a space that mirrors human existence, but I also dedicate myself to portraiture. Not so much specific likenesses, but rather symbolic portraits of life situations. I'm interested in pop-cultural connections between intimate settings and public space. Moments of understanding, failure, self-acceptance and conversely, self-judgment. I draw from the high school where I teach and from the world of larp and reenactment, where I observe various phenomena, motifs, and a wide range of frustrations.
I'm also interested in the position of women in contemporary society. Unspoken and overlooked topics.
I most often work with acrylics, sometimes combined with other materials, from markers to spray paint to collage.
