Jana Omelková
Jana Omelková (*1982, Uherské Hradiště) in her sculptural approach explores the intersections of memory of place, time, and personal experience. Her work grows from the landscape of Slovácko and the archetypal structures of Great Moravia, which she transforms into a contemporary sculptural language. She studied painting at the Secondary School of Applied Arts in Uherské Hradiště and sculpture at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Brno; she also gained formative experience during residencies abroad in Milan and Cluj, Romania.
