Jan Karpíšek (*1981) graduated from the Painting 2 studio of Prof. Martin Mainer and completed an internship in the Performance studio of Prof. Tomáš Ruller at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Brno University of Technology (FaVU VUT) in Brno (1999–2005). He works with conceptual art that incorporates natural processes: rain and the drying of simulated puddles on canvas, interactions between artefacts and honeybees, action painting with biochar in ritual performances, as well as traditional painting. His aim is to express the experience of unity between mind, body, nature, creation, and everyday life.
Curator and editor: Artfest Třeboň 2004, online gallery and magazine Radikála (2003–2008), Kopřivy (Industra Brno, 2015), Weles magazine (2017–2018), Galerie Ponava (2017–2020).
Founder of ArtGraduates.
