Helena Ticháčková
Helena Ticháčková (1998) is a contemporary painter dedicated to exploring the technological aspects and expressive means of icons and medieval panel painting, which she further develops and updates. In her paintings, she emphasizes composition, geometry, the effect of colors, and their mutual blending. She employs the principle of reverse perspective, which disrupts conventional perception of space and thus encourages the viewer to observe the painting from a different angle. Central to her practice is the work with layering glazes and the historical preparation of the painting ground. Her paintings reflect the theme of home, the tension between intimacy and alienation, and the search for certainty in a world of shifting relationships.
