Eyüp Günaydın
He was born in 1991 in Safranbolu. He took his inclination towards painting to an academic level through his undergraduate studies at the Department of Painting of the Fethi Toker Faculty of Fine Arts, Karabük University. He completed his master’s degree at the Institute of Fine Arts of Çankırı Karatekin University with a thesis entitled “The Artistic Representation of the Objectified Animal Image in the Visual Arts”. He is currently continuing his studies on the doctoral-level Proficiency in Art programme (Sanatta Yeterlik) at the Institute of Graduate Studies, Karabük University.
To create his work, Günaydın remains in constant contact with nature. In building this bond, he describes the human-made plastic waste that strains it as cancer cells trying to take over nature. In his work, framed by the relationship between nature and humans, he transforms the meaning of plastic packaging waste, which causes ecological harm to nature, and repositions it. He makes his pieces by combining waste fabric and discarded plastic packaging with stitching, weaving, eco-printing and natural dyeing techniques.
