Elisabeth Habermannová
Elisabeth Habermannová (*2002) studies at the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art in Plzeň, in the Sculpture and Space studio under Benedikt Tolar.
Although she is naturally drawn to the classical understanding of sculpture, her work moves in a modern direction, exploring questions that link the past with the image of the contemporary world and the legacies of notable figures.
All of this with a generous dose of experimentation and respect for the material at hand – typically stone and metals.
Her public art can be seen in Dobřichovice near Prague, where she created a two-metre-high sculpture entitled Screen from Nehodiv marble for the Cesta mramoru symposium.
Two further stone works are located in Slovakia in the heart of Prešov, where she regularly takes part in the Práci Česť symposium.
Other works of hers can be found in private art collections or, for example, at the stone-carving school in Hořice, where she studied.
