Ekaterina Gordeladze
Ekaterina Gordeladze (*1996) graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (AVU), from the sculpture studio of Vojtěch Míča (diploma 2025).
Ekaterina's work centres on large-format relief sculpture. She deliberately balances on the thin line between a flat image and a three-dimensional object, generating a constant tension. She chooses hard, cold materials (concrete, ceramics, glass), yet tempers them with a muted, distinctive palette that evokes the softness and absolute vulnerability of the human body – the symbolic reference point of her work.
She thus plays with incompatibility/compatibility and tensions present both in relationships and in the space between bodies themselves.
I look at the space between figures, searching for the tensions they hold, and try to release them somewhere. I draw from personal life, movement, patterns of human behaviour, sexuality, and from the strength and tenderness of motherhood.
