Alberto Gedeon Soto
Peruvian sculptor and artist
Born in Lima. He began his artistic training at Our Lady of Guadalupe National School, where he won a drawing competition and received an external scholarship to study at the National School of Fine Arts of Peru, completing his professional training there between 1994 and 2001. He devoted his first two years to painting before specializing in sculpture. From 2002 to 2004 he taught at the same school and worked as an art teacher at a secondary school in Lima.
His work is predominantly naturalistic in all its forms. He paints on canvas and wood, in oil and acrylics. As a sculptor, he specializes mainly in marble, but also works with all kinds of stone and wood. He has been invited to exhibit his work in numerous galleries in Lima.
In 2006 he traveled to Europe. He spent five years living in Tenerife, Canary Islands, where he worked as a sculptor and produced numerous works in volcanic rock, particularly in piedra chasnera.
